I worked as a teen facilitator for a local non-profit called ICB (Intercultural Community Builders)
for... Honestly I don't even know how long. I started sometime in middle school, and stopped sometime in 2021.
The goal of the non-profit was to educate teens in various topics, from bullying, to leadership, to cultural acceptance
and appreciation. I was originally just a facilitator, which meant I would go up on stage and cover some topics from our booklet,
but after a couple years I somehow found myself on the board of directors. I'm gonna be honest, I didn't do a whole lot as a director
besides attend our monthly meetings, but it was really interesting to see how a non-profit was run from a firsthand perspective.
I also learned some really important leadership skills as a facilitator, I got pretty good at public speaking and engaging my peers in learning.
